I completed my first race today. 4 kilometers in 26 minutes! Thanks to my wife, I have some images from the race. Check out some more photos (of me) from the race here.
The Pumpkin Run is a 4K race through a remote and scenic trail near Horace Williams Airport in Chapel Hill. The course has rolling hills and is challenging. Read what Chapel Hill News has to say about the race.
The race was a lot of fun, with tons of families running together (though that sounds more organized than the actual chaos of kids running pell-mell everywhere). It felt could to meet this goal; completing a short race without killing or otherwise injuring myself. I am also doing the No Boundaries running clinic out of our local Fleet Feet running store in Carrboro. The clinic will culminate in a 5k race here in Chapel Hill, the Southern Village 5k, in mid December.
