I was us early Sunday morning to shoot a local duathlon. A duathlon is like a triathlon without the swimming, in case you, like me, did not know. Two images from the shoot made it into today’s paper in Carrboro Classic adds spring to the step.
Staged at McDougle Middle School, the Carrboro Classic included a long-course duathlon (5-mile run, 33-mile bike, and 5-mile run), a super sprint duathlon (2.4-mile run, 12-mile bike, and 1.2-mile run), and a Wild West 8K (five-mile) run.
Two photos made it onto the sports page. The first is of the runner coming into the transition area where he would hop on his bike. Not my most inspired photo, but he is pretty colorful.
The second photo, actually the lead photo for the Sports page, was another safe choice. Here we see one of the several starts for the day. Fortunately for me, the start for the different races were staggered by a few minutes, allowing me a few chances to find the best angles and positions to capture the start.
I will write up a longer post in a few days with all the outtakes from the day. Until then, here is a slide show of some of the photos from the day. I will be adding to it as I upload more photos to flickr.
If you find this post useful or interesting, please consider buying me a cup of coffee.
