This morning, the Chapel Hill News published another of my photos. This shot is part of the story, Wildcats make the grade, from the basketball game shoot that I have previously mentioned. Here Wildcat Hannah Elledge (#12) goes up for a layup in the first half of the game.
I had the flash, my Vivirar, set up on a stand to my left, near the corner of the court. It was early in the game and I was still playing with the light levels. I think that the flash is overpowering the ambient light levels a bit too much her, but the players are getting that separation from the background that makes a good shot. It’s time to get a second off-camera flash so I can even out the light a bit better.
There will be more posts on this shoot this week. I have some interesting photos of the cheerleaders. Besides the game photos that were posted yesterday, I have a few more to post. I will also address a few technical issues that this shoot brought up for me.
