One of my photos has been published as the cover art for an album: Dimensions d’Istanbul by Canadian artist Eric St-Laurent. Eric was great to work with, making this a great experience for me. He mainly produces music for film and television soundtracks, so the production of this album has been limited to a small marketing quality.
Flickr’s Explore is an elusive and irrational goal for almost everyone on the site. The algorithm that chooses the daily five hundred most interesting images in not only a tightly held secret, but an every changing one. Much digital space and actual time has been and continues to be devoted (wasted?) at a prodigious rate. Rationally, no one should really care, but it is so hard to resist the temptation to want an image to make it to the list. During my time on Flickr, I have had a few photos make it onto the explore list, but each fell off before the list was finalized for that day. Unbeknown to me, I achieved this goal a few months ago. I posted this image back in July and it climbed onto explore, eventually settling to #156 in interestingness on 2008-07-22. Now I can relax and rest easy.
