We have been taking our puppies to the local dog park here in Chapel Hill and occasionally I lug the camera with me. On one of those days, I caught Vega, a Husky who gets along well with our two dogs, curling up in the water bucket to cool off. She does this regularly on warm days and is the only dog that we have seen get all the way into the bucket. Many dogs will dip their front paws ans a few their back, but Vega just gets in and curls up.
A few weeks ago, I submitted this to the Chapel Hill News’ Your Best Shot series (no longer updated online due to budget cutbacks). This past Wednesday, I did not get my paper, so read it online. The next day, I took out the recycling and saw a neighbor’s paper and thought I spotted a familiar photo on the front page. Lo and behald, Vega made the front page.
